Sean Summers: Ready to Lead in Washington

We need Sean Summers in Washington, D.C., as the Congressman from Pennsylvania’s 4th District, representing York and Adams counties, part of Cumberland County and Harrisburg. Why? Because he’s a leader. Not a politician.

Already, people are lining up to support Sean, including Central Pennsylvania business leaders, advocates of Veterans’ rights and a strong military, and hard-working residents who want to see the size of our government reduced and the quality of our representation enhanced.

They know the kind of decent, high-values man Sean is because of the outstanding life he’s lived. He enlisted in the Army, became one of the Army’s elite Airborne Rangers, and deployed to Afghanistan with Special Forces, earning the Bronze Star for his service. Sean put himself through law school, then served as prosecutor with the U.S. Army JAG Corps. He eventually brought his practice back home to York County.

He Fought Westboro Baptist Church All the Way to the Supreme Court

Sean Summers was the lead counsel who came to the aid of Mr. Albert Snyder, whose son Marine Lance Cpl. Matthew Snyder was killed in Iraq in 2006.  Sean sued Fred Phelps and the members of his Westboro Baptist Church, the Kansas religious sect that disrupts military family funerals shouting, “Thank God for dead soldiers!” Sean Summers fought that case – at no cost to the Snyder family – all the way to the United States Supreme Court.

“Sean has the character and leadership skills that we need in Washington,” says Mr. Snyder, one of Sean’s most devoted supporters.

For many years now, Sean has been representing businesses throughout south central PA and is fully aware of the burdens that career politicians continue to place on business. He plans to use his leadership skills to advocate south central PA’s values in Washington, where he will be a catalyst for turning our economy around.

Please cast your vote for Sean Summers.

”In calling Sean one of only two “top-tier candidates, the York Sunday News said: “The Dover native has shown a depth of thought and sophistication on the issues that other candidates lack. That's important. This nation faces serious challenges and we need leaders who can think for themselves.”

In giving its full endorsement, the York Dispatch said: Sean is “an ‘old-school,’ fiscally conservative Republican, but one who shows a willingness to buck the party in favor of his own principles. At a time when rigid ideology has paralyzed Washington, the former Army ranger and Bronze Star recipient is the only one of the seven GOP candidates who doesn't seem to regard "compromise" as a dirty word. In our opinion, Summers will fight for what's right for the residents of the 4th District, even if it puts him at odds with party "leaders" or special interest groups. Summers is not unfamiliar with a tough, but just, fight. He took on a local case -- pro bono -- against the hateful Westboro Baptist Church, arguing it all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court. Although he lost the case, he won the respect of veterans and military families across the country.”
